MARCHER FLEISCHWERKE INVESTS IN THE FUTURE

The Marcher Fleischwerke, one of Villach's most traditional companies, has undertaken an ambitious project over the past three years: with an investment in the double-digit million range, the facility on Kasernengasse has been extensively modernized and expanded. The result is not only an architectural highlight but also a significant boost for the region's future.
A MODERN WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR INNOVATION AND GROWTH
By expanding the operational space by 10,800 square meters and constructing a new office building along with a modern factory canteen, Marcher Fleischwerke has made a clear statement about the company's development and growth. The new building stands out for its functionality and bright, open design. The new office tower, in particular, is striking with its distinctive architecture: the window arrangement resembles the marbling of a steak—a creative nod to the company's core expertise.
Approximately 550 production employees and 70 administrative staff are expected to benefit from the modern, thoughtfully designed work environment. The new office tower was designed as a functional workspace and with a strong focus on employee well-being. Central working cafés, abundant natural light, and homely touches such as larch wood windows and textile flooring create a pleasant working atmosphere.
FORWARD-LOOKING EXPANSIONS
In addition to the administrative and infrastructural upgrades, production is also being further modernized. By summer 2025, new cutting-edge processing technologies and a pickup market will be operational. With this, the Marcher Group is focusing on innovation and quality, meeting the increasing production demands and the requirements of international markets. The company is a global player in the meat industry, exporting to 40 countries with an annual production of around 100,000 tons of pork.
TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION
The expansion of the Villach facility is a striking example of how tradition and innovation go hand in hand at Marcher Fleischwerke. The company has a 90-year history and is now in its third generation of family ownership. With revenue of €626 million in 2023 and 1,800 employees across eleven locations in Austria, the Marcher Group emphasizes its importance as Villach's second-largest employer and one of the country's leading food and beverage manufacturers.
A PIONEERING STEP FOR VILLACH
This investment in the future strengthens Marcher Fleischwerke's operations and the economic power of Villach and Carinthia. The company contributes to positioning Villach as a hub for innovative, future-oriented businesses by centralizing administration at a single location and creating modern workplaces.
