VILLACH, SUMMER, AND YOU! - THE VILLACH SUMMER PROGRAM 2024

Summer is just around the corner, and Villach is gearing up for something spectacular! Under the motto "Villach, Summer, and You!", Stadtmarketing Villach presents a diverse program that will turn the warm months in the city center into an unforgettable experience.

SURFING AND BEACHING IN THE HEART OF VILLACH

Numerous sporting highlights await visitors to the Villach city center: The Drau Bridge will be transformed into a surf platform, where adventure seekers can indulge in water sports without the need for an artificial wave. But that's not all – for the first time ever, a beach volleyball arena will be set up on the Rathausplatz with around 120 tons of sand, providing thrilling matches and tournaments from mid-August to the end of the month. Hobby games and training sessions for beginners are also planned.

Football fans won't be left out in the summer of 2024 either. Instead of a central public viewing, Villach's local establishments will offer in course of the European Football Championship a cozy atmosphere in their beer gardens, while a BBQ area on the Untere Kirchenplatz provides the perfect complement to the sporting action.

ART, CULTURE, AND KIRCHTAG 

The Villach summer offers much more than just sports: Emely Myles, finalist of "The Voice of Germany," will enchant visitors with a concert on the Hauptplatz (Main Square) on June 26th. In addition, the showband "Bad Powells" promises to create a great atmosphere at a major fashion show hosted by Villach's retailers on July 19th. Of course, Austria's largest traditional festival cannot be missed! The 79th edition of the Villach Kirchtag is set to be a testament to quality.

Once again, street performers, various markets, and small concerts in beer gardens will add life into the cityscape. Starting in mid-June, the popular "Draupuls" shows will return, providing musical and visual delights every Wednesday and Friday evening until mid-September. This year, the water multimedia spectacle will be expanded to include "Disco" and "Musical" programs.
