BIKER'S PARADISE - CELEBRATING THE 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF EUROPEAN BIKE WEEK

When it comes to spectacular motorcycle and Harley-Davidson gatherings, the European Bike Week at Lake Faak takes the top spot on the list. This year, more precisely from September 5th to 10th, 2023, the 25th edition of this iconic event will be celebrated. The picturesque region around the lake Faaker See in Carinthia becomes the stage for tens of thousands of Harley riders and fans of the legendary motorcycle brand. An event that can not be missed!

A TRADITION FULL OF POWER AND ENTHUSIASM

The European Bike Week at Faaker See is an annual highlight for all motorcycle enthusiasts and marks the official end of the motorcycle season in Europe. Since its founding in 1998, it has evolved into the largest meeting point for the rocker and biker scene in Europe and the third-largest event of its kind worldwide.

Originally conceived as a Harley-Davidson anniversary event, the meeting was organized by Daniela Gabriel, an employee in Harley-Davidson Europe Management, and attracted 15,000 participants in its first edition. The event featured special music acts such as the American band Bon Jovi. The following year, the event received its current name "European Bike Week". Since then, the event takes place every year at Faaker See and was also held in the pandemic years 2020 and 2021, in a reduced format under the motto "Back to the Roads". Today, the event has returned to its full scope and is not only a meeting point for motorcycle enthusiasts but also a symbol of unbroken passion and unity in the biker community.

THE HARLEY GATHERING AT FAAKER SEE

Annually, in early September, up to 40,000 Harley-Davidson riders and 50,000 fans of two-wheelers of all brands gather at Faaker See to participate in this unique event. Bike Week offers a diverse program ranging from spectacular parades to live music and impressive custom bike shows. The events take place both in organized "villages" and in private settings around the lake. Special program highlights include stunt shows as part of the Ride-in-Bike Show by Custom Chrome Europe, which have been a fixed part of the event since 2002, as well as the concerts that take place during the week.

The central hub is the Harley-Village, where not only the campsite is located but also official Harley-Davidson dealers. An annual highlight is the impressive parade, where thousands of motorcyclists take a collective ride through the entire region, and numerous onlookers gather at the sidelines to admire the colorful spectacle.

THE ANNIVERSARY AND ITS HIGHLIGHTS

This year, the European Bike Week celebrates its 25th anniversary. A quarter-century of passion, power, and unique moments. The Arneitz-Village will, once again, take center stage. Visitors can expect a brand-new Custom Bike Area and a diverse live program. The large Biker Market invites browsing and amazement with more than 80 stands. And of course, the legendary Harley-Village will be there, featuring Harley dealers, exhibitors, and live music on two stages with over 40 concerts.

With a Harley-Davidson special exhibition, current models, an Adventure Zone - a new off-road area - and the opportunity for test rides, the European Bike Week is celebrating not only its own anniversary but also the 120-year existence of Harley-Davidson and the 40-year anniversary of the Harley Owners Group.

Beyond the Bike-Week center in Faak, there is a diverse supporting program that ensures entertainment. Concert series like "The Lake Rocks" promise a great atmosphere and good music in various venues. Exciting tours through the beautiful Carinthian landscape are offered, and in the city center of Villach, bikers are warmly welcomed with VIP parking spaces, living room concerts, and shopping nights during the "Bikers Welcome".

On Friday, the most elaborate and exciting modifications will be awarded in the Custom Bike Show, and on Saturday, the traditional highlight of Bike Week takes place: the grand Harley parade through the picturesque region of Villach.

For a quarter of a century now, the European Bike Week at Faaker See has been captivating motorcycle and Harley-Davidson fans with shows, entertainment, and an impressive atmosphere. The event has become one of the most significant events for Carinthia's economy and tourism, attracting thousands of visitors annually. Additionally, the event provides a platform for motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world to exchange ideas, discover the latest trends, and celebrate their close connection to the motorcycle culture.
